Happenings—which will take place on April 28 and 29—embody the conceptual vision of CalArts where artists come together to work across métiers to inspire one another, invent new forms, and experiment in ways no one has before.
Happenings include a collection of student and alumnx work that is durational, performative, and immersive. End-of-year works from various schools will also occur on all three days of the weekend as well as juried alumnx and student projects that will unfold before guests across campus on the evening of Friday, April 28 and continue through the night and conclude on Saturday, April 29.
In honor of CalArts’ anniversary, thousands of alumnx and friends will descend upon campus. One-time stipends of up to $1,000 will be available to support student and alumnx projects.
