I have so many incredible memories at CalArts it’s hard to pick one so so hard. One comes to mind though. Visiting artist Stew was teaching a class for our 4th year called Solo Show and decided to do an impromptu show with his band in the coffee house theater after rehearsal which ended at 11pm. We were all tired and high or drunk and sitting waiting for this somewhat mysterious man to start. The room was dark and mostly everyone was talking. A soft light come up on stage and there he was with his signature hat. He started to sing. We went silent.
